This version is confirmed to work with OneStream version 6.3.0 to 7.4.0

BDA Capital and Project Planning and Extensible dimensions (1)

If you are installing BDA Capital and Project Planning on a fresh application, Capital dimensions will get attached to the RootDim and using extensibility in these dimensions will be difficult. Keep in mind that on an existing application if you have a Top member in (UD1-UD8), Capital dimensions will use the dimension that has the "Top" member as the inherited dimension.

  1. Perform this check before installing the product.

Notes

  • If you are coming from a previous version that does not have "BDA Capital and Project Planning Client Content" Maintenance Unit, please talk to Product team about migrating the Config parameters to the "BDA Capital and Project Planning Client Content" Maintenance Unit.

  • If you are coming from a version that still uses "BDA_SolutionEngineKey" to add Admin users to Capital model, please talk to Product team about migrating the admin users to the latest relational model.

New Features

Improved Functionality

  • Ability to keep the changes to cube views and workflows.
    • This install will add a new group called "Capital and Project Planning by BDA Installer", the old one (Capital and Project Planning by BDA) will not be touched by the installer, you can use the "Installer" group cube views as a reference.
    • New tasks added by the installer in a workflow item will always appear at the end of that specific workflow item.
  • Updated the following columns to have a numeric of 18 from 12.

    • OriginalEstCost
    • RevisedEstCost
    • ActCostToDate

  • Fixed an issue where you cannot delete sample calc unit.
  • Fixed an issue where Data load of valid CUs throws a "missing/invalid groups, employee ID" etc. error.
  • Fixed an issue while selecting Depreciation Planning High Level Capital and Project Planning throws a Framework error.
  • Fixed an issue when you click on overall calc button, Capital threw a CPXCalcDetailed error at line 11183.
  • Fixed an issue where delete of Asset throws calc error.
  • Fixed an issue where download of 02 Detail Output Allocation Configuration throws a DownloadConfig exception.
  • Fixed an issue where assignment of 02 Calculation Unit Allocations throws a identity column error.
  • Fixed an issue where download of Calculation Unit Allocations Definitions throws a Download Config error.
  • Fixed an issue where running calc throws a CPXCalcDetailed error.
  • Fixed an issue where download of 03 Project Allocation throws a DownloadConfig 3933 error.
  • Fixed an issue with data loads (full update shows "error deleting prior records")
  • Fixed an issue with Project allocation not working.
  • Fixed an issue which freezes the Detailed and High level calculation when deleting with a lot of unused calculation units.

  • Bug ID IN# 00670: Adding a new category in EXCEL and uploading is not adding the members to the cube
  • Bug ID IN# 00646: Asset with prior year (Jan 2022) start date and useful life of one year shows the full depreciation value in Jan 2023.
  • Bug ID IN# 00647: Useful life of one year with start date in Feb 2022 and a Use Depreciation Start Date Spend Pattren doubles the depreciated amount.

Installation and Configuration Instructions

Installation

Info

The below steps must be performed for both a fresh install or an upgrade from a previous version.

  • Make sure that at least one valid workflow profile is setup and selected ahead of installing the BDA Capital and Project Planning.
  • If you are coming from a previous version that does not have "BDA Capital and Project Planning Client Content" Maintenance Unit, please talk to Product team about migrating the Config parameters to the "BDA Capital and Project Planning Client Content" Maintenance Unit.
  • If you are coming from a version that still uses "BDA_SolutionEngineKey" to add Admin users to Capital model, please talk to Product team about migrating the admin users to the latest relational model.
  • Upload Zip File into Application -> Load/Extract -> Load
  • Once completed, navigate to OnePlace -> Dashboards -> BDA Capital and Project Planning Setup
  • Click on dashboard BDA CPX Install

  • Click the button "Click to Install/Update BDA Capital and Project Planning.”
